20 knife types · bands, not tickers
Every CS2 knife, filed with a price band and the date we read it.
Twenty knife types, one index. Floors, headline finishes and grail phases as bands — never a fake-precise ticker — plus the cases that drop each shape and what the October 2025 trade-up update did to all of it.

Bayonet in CS2: The Original Knife, Priced Per Wear (Sep 2026)
The plainest of the Arms Deal five has the cheapest Fade of the originals and the thinnest Fade market — a $107 floor, a $330 headline, and a liquidity story.
Butterfly Knife in CS2: Price Bands, Cases and Finishes (Sep 2026)
The most expensive shape in the index, per wear and per finish, with the five cases that drop it and the one that guarantees it in a trade-up.
How the October 2025 Trade-Up Update Changed CS2 Knife Prices — With Receipts
Every headline finish bottomed on 24 October 2025. The peaks, the lows, the recovery to September 2026, the May second leg, and what a knife trade-up actually costs.
How the index works
Every figure on this site is a band with a date, read across the major marketplaces on the day given beside it. A static page cannot show a live price honestly, so we do not try: you get "$365–380 on 9 Sep 2026", a link to check the live number, and a re-check on a schedule.
The ranking on our page of all CS2 knives uses the market's own finish-neutral vote: what a worn Safari Mesh copy of each shape costs. That number strips out Fade and Doppler premiums and leaves the price of the silhouette and its animation — the thing you are actually choosing when you pick a knife type.
What we will not do
We may cover case-opening and skin-betting sites, but we never link to scams, and no affiliate deal changes that. Where a knife is sold, we link established marketplaces through disclosed /go/ links. Renders are Valve's item images, used for identification only; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation.
Knife questions, answered
How many knife types are there in CS2?
Twenty. The five Arms Deal originals (Bayonet, Flip, Gut, Karambit, M9 Bayonet) were joined by the Huntsman, Butterfly, Falchion, Shadow Daggers and Bowie through 2016, the four Horizon knives (Navaja, Stiletto, Talon, Ursus) in 2018, the Classic Knife in 2019, the four Shattered Web knives (Nomad, Paracord, Skeleton, Survival) the same year, and the Kukri in 2024. Across finishes and Doppler phases the community item API lists 576 distinct knife entries.
What is the cheapest knife in CS2 right now?
At our 9 September 2026 check the floor sat in the $35–60 band: worn Navaja, Gut, Shadow Daggers, Paracord and Survival knives in Safari Mesh, Scorched, Night or Blue Steel finishes. Anything quoting a single exact number is already stale — we publish bands with the date we looked.
Why did CS2 knife prices crash in October 2025?
On 22 October 2025 Valve extended Trade Up Contracts to Covert skins: five red skins now produce a knife or gloves from the matching case pool. New supply arrived overnight and most common-finish knives lost 20–50% within days; the M9 Bayonet Fade went from roughly $2,450 to about $700 at the low. Collector pieces — Blue Gems, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald phases — held far better.
Which cases can drop a Butterfly Knife?
Five: Operation Breakout Weapon Case (where it debuted in 2014), Spectrum Case, Spectrum 2 Case, Operation Riptide Case and Dreams & Nightmares Case. Breakout is the only one whose rare-item pool is Butterfly-only; the other four share their pool with the Huntsman, Falchion, Bowie and Shadow Daggers.
Are the prices on this site live?
No, and we say so on every page. This is a static index: each figure is a band ("$350–450") with the date we checked it, cross-read across the major marketplaces. For a live number, follow the marketplace links — some are affiliate links, all are disclosed, and none of them are case-opening or betting sites.
