The Flip Knife cost $102–108 in a worn Safari Mesh on 9 September 2026 and $285–345 in a Factory New Fade, which puts it eighth of twenty shapes by floor and makes it the cheapest of the 2013 originals to own with a proper Fade and a proper animation. The Gut is cheaper and has no animation; the Bayonet is $5 dearer at the floor and its Fade costs more. The Flip is the middle of the Arms Deal five in every sense.

Flip Knife prices on the check-date

On 9 September 2026 a Well-Worn Flip Knife Safari Mesh was listed from $102, Battle-Scarred from $102, Field-Tested from $103, Minimal Wear from $108 and Factory New from $173. The Fade was $285–345 in Factory New with a ninety-day range of $293–343 on 89 listings; its all-time high was $1,163 on 18 April 2023 and its all-time low $204 on 24 October 2025.

Note the Factory New mesh price. At $173 it is 1.7× the worn price, the smallest premium of the five originals, against 12× on the Gut and 3.1× on the M9. On a Flip the Factory New question is nearly free to answer, which is unusual and worth knowing if you like clean floats.

Flip versus Bayonet

Buy the Flip if animation matters and the Bayonet if blade size does; the market has priced them within $10 at the floor. On 9 September 2026 the Bayonet Safari Mesh was $107–117 worn and the Flip $102–108, while the Fades ran the other way — Bayonet $330–385, Flip $285–345. The Flip's Fade book was also nine times deeper, 89 listings against 10, which means a Flip Fade sells at a market price and a Bayonet Fade sells at a seller's price.

The trade-off is surface. The Flip's blade is roughly two-thirds the length of the Bayonet's and shows a Lore, Marble Fade or Doppler across proportionally less metal, which is why the plainer Bayonet has always priced its long-blade finishes a rung higher. The Bayonet file makes the full case for the other side.

Cases, pool and trade-ups

Sixteen cases, one pool. The Flip drops from the CS:GO Weapon Case, eSports 2013, Operation Bravo, Weapon Case 2, eSports 2013 Winter, Winter Offensive, Weapon Case 3, Operation Phoenix, eSports 2014 Summer, Operation Vanguard, Revolver, Chroma, Chroma 2, Chroma 3, Gamma and Gamma 2, always alongside the Bayonet, Gut, Karambit and M9. There is no Flip-only container, so no trade-up can lock the shape: five Coverts from any of those cases roll one shape in five before the finish.

That pool is why the Flip's October 2025 low arrived the same day as everyone else's. The Fade bottomed at $204 on 24 October 2025, up to $285–345 by 9 September 2026 — a 41% recovery off the low, in line with the Bayonet and Falchion and behind the Karambit and Butterfly, which recovered 55%. The prestige shapes were bought back first. Every shape's receipt is in how the trade-up update changed CS2 knife prices.

Finishes and floats

Thirty-five finish entries plus vanilla, the full Arms Deal roster, all with StatTrak variants. The float-capped five — Fade, Doppler, Gamma Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth — stop at 0.08 and exist only in Factory New and Minimal Wear. Slaughter is 0.01–0.26, Freehand to 0.48, Bright Water and Damascus to 0.50, Lore to 0.65, Autotronic to 0.85. The common finishes, Night, Ultraviolet and Crimson Web run 0.06–0.80; Case Hardened, Blue Steel, Stained and Black Laminate run 0–1.00; Rust Coat 0.40–1.00.

Stained deserves a word. It runs the full 0–1.00 float, so Factory New copies are common and cheap, and its dark mottled steel suits the Flip's compact blade. In the spring it was the most-listed cheap Flip on one roundup at $113 Battle-Scarred; mesh has since undercut it, but a clean Stained is still the best-looking Flip under $150 we have seen.

Shopping the Flip by float

On a Flip the float filter earns its keep on Stained and Case Hardened, both 0–1.00 finishes where a 0.05 copy and a 0.35 copy are visibly different knives under the same wear label. The compact blade hides scratches better than a Bayonet's, so a Field-Tested premium finish reads cleaner here than on the longer shapes — one reason a worn Flip Lore or Slaughter is a sound buy relative to its M9 equivalent. StatTrak carries a modest premium on the Flip because the counter fits neatly on the short handle; we did not read StatTrak asks on the check-date and print none.

Where to buy a Flip Knife

Cash market, worn or clean depending on the finish, with a float filter. Skinport charges buyers nothing and sellers 8%; CSFloat charges sellers 2% and shows float and phase on every listing; DMarket runs about 2% on liquid items; Steam takes 15% and locks your money in. Cash: Skinport, CSFloat, DMarket, SkinBaron, white.market, Lis-Skins. Trading in: Tradeit, SkinSwap, Swap.gg, CS.TRADE. Some are affiliate links that may pay us a commission at no cost to you; bands are read before any of that, and none is a case-opening site. The Flip's rank among all twenty shapes is in the ranked index of all CS2 knives.

Flip Knife questions

How much is a Flip Knife in CS2?

From $102–108 for a worn Safari Mesh on 9 September 2026, $173 for the same mesh in Factory New, and $285–345 for a Factory New Fade.

Which cases have the Flip Knife?

All sixteen Arms Deal-pool cases, from the CS:GO Weapon Case to Gamma 2, shared with the Bayonet, Gut, Karambit and M9. There is no Flip-only case.

Is the Flip Knife a good first knife?

Yes — it is the cheapest original with a good inspect animation and a Fade under $350, and its Factory New common finishes carry the smallest premium of the five.

Flip Knife or Bayonet?

Within $10 at the floor. Flip for the animation and the cheaper, deeper Fade market; Bayonet for the longer blade and the way it carries Lore and Doppler.

Why did the Flip Knife Fade drop so much?

It peaked at $1,163 in April 2023 and had already halved before the 22 October 2025 trade-up update took it to a $204 low. By 9 September 2026 it was $285–345, up 41% from the low.
