Gut Knife in CS2: The Cheapest Original and the Best-Value Doppler (Sep 2026)

The Gut Knife was the cheapest of the five original CS2 knives on 9 September 2026 at $40–43 for a worn Safari Mesh, and it is the only shape at the floor of the market with the full Arms Deal finish ladder behind it. Its Doppler cost $110–130 in Factory New on the same date — the cheapest Doppler of any knife by a margin of hundreds of dollars — and that single fact is the reason to read this file.
What a Gut Knife costs
On 9 September 2026 a Field-Tested Gut Knife Safari Mesh was listed from $39.90, Well-Worn from $40, Battle-Scarred from $41.54 and Minimal Wear from $43 — and Factory New from $482, the widest worn-to-FN gap we found on any knife, because mesh finishes have a 0.06 float floor and clean copies barely exist. The Doppler was $110–130 in Factory New, ninety-day range $112–127, with an all-time high of $246 on 14 April 2023 and an all-time low of $91 on 24 October 2025.
A May 2026 roundup listed the cheapest Gut as a Battle-Scarred Night at $55.64 and a Bright Water at $61 worn to $96 Factory New — the tightest wear spread of any knife finish it priced. By September the mesh floor had moved under $40, so the Night and Bright Water bands should be read as upper bounds now.
| № | Finish | Wear | Band | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Safari Mesh | FT / WW / BS | $40–43 | shape floor |
| 2 | Safari Mesh | Factory New | $480 | 12× the worn price — never buy |
| 3 | Doppler (Phase 1–4) | Factory New | $110–130 | 352 listings; ATH $246 (14 Apr 2023), ATL $91 (24 Oct 2025) |
| 4 | Night | Battle-Scarred | up to $56 | 22 May 2026 read; floor has since fallen |
| 5 | Bright Water | BS to FN | $61–96 | 22 May 2026 read; tightest wear spread |
Why the Gut Doppler is the value finish in the game
Because the shape premium is near zero and the finish premium is the same finish everyone else pays for. A Doppler on a Karambit was $1,220–1,350 on 9 September 2026, on an M9 $885–1,000, on a Butterfly $2,000–2,230, and on a Gut $110–130. The Gut Doppler is the same Phase 1–4 paint from the same Chroma-era cases, at 9% of the Karambit price, with 352 active listings on one tracker.
The same logic runs down the whole Arms Deal ladder — Tiger Tooth, Marble Fade, Lore, Slaughter, Gamma Doppler — although we read only the Doppler on the check-date and will not guess the rest. If the knife's job is to carry a finish you like in your own first-person view, the Gut does that job for less than a worn Karambit Safari Mesh. The Karambit file prices the top of the same ladder if you want to see what the shape premium is buying.

Cases, pool and trade-ups
The Gut drops from all sixteen Arms Deal-pool cases — CS:GO Weapon Case, eSports 2013, Operation Bravo, Weapon Case 2, eSports 2013 Winter, Winter Offensive, Weapon Case 3, Operation Phoenix, eSports 2014 Summer, Operation Vanguard, Revolver, Chroma 1–3, Gamma 1–2 — sharing the pool with the Bayonet, Flip, Karambit and M9. Since 22 October 2025 five Covert skins from any of those cases can be traded up into the pool.
That is the mechanism behind the $40 floor. Every trade-up aimed at a Karambit or M9 has a one-in-five chance of landing a Gut, and most of those Guts get listed at whatever clears. Supply that nobody wanted lands on the least-valued shape in the pool — exactly what happens to the Falchion in the Spectrum pool. The full mechanics and receipts are in how the trade-up update changed CS2 knife prices.

Finishes and floats
Thirty-five entries plus vanilla, identical to the other 2013 shapes: Fade, Doppler (Phase 1–4, Ruby, Sapphire, Black Pearl), Gamma Doppler (Phase 1–4, Emerald), Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Lore, Autotronic, Slaughter, Black Laminate, Damascus Steel, Bright Water, Freehand, Ultraviolet, Crimson Web, Case Hardened, and the common finishes. StatTrak exists on all. The float-capped finishes stop at 0.08; Slaughter 0.01–0.26; Freehand to 0.48; Bright Water and Damascus to 0.50; Lore 0.65; Autotronic 0.85; common finishes and Crimson Web 0.06–0.80; Case Hardened, Blue Steel, Stained, Black Laminate 0–1.00; Rust Coat 0.40–1.00.
On a blade this size the dense finishes win: Tiger Tooth, Marble Fade and Doppler read clearly; Fade and Lore lose detail. Bright Water is the sleeper — its 0–0.50 float range means clean copies are common, which is why its worn-to-FN spread was the tightest of any finish in the May read.
Where to buy a Gut Knife
Worn, on a cash market with a float filter, and check the Doppler phase before paying — Phase 2 typically carries the premium, Phase 1 and 3 the discount, and the Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl phases are a different market. Skinport charges buyers nothing and sellers 8%; CSFloat 2% seller with phase and float on every listing; DMarket around 2% on items this liquid; Steam 15% and wallet-locked. Cash: CSFloat, Skinport, DMarket, SkinBaron, white.market, Lis-Skins. Trading in: Tradeit, SkinSwap, Swap.gg, CS.TRADE. Some are affiliate links that may pay us a commission at no cost to you; they never change a band, and none is a case-opening site. Gut Knife questions
How much is a Gut Knife in CS2?
From $40–43 for a worn Safari Mesh on 9 September 2026 and $110–130 for a Factory New Doppler. Factory New Safari Mesh was $480 and is never worth it.
Is the Gut Knife the cheapest knife in CS2?
It is the cheapest of the five original 2013 knives. The overall floor on the check-date was the Navaja, Shadow Daggers, Kukri, Survival and Paracord at $34–41.
Why is the Gut Knife Doppler so cheap?
The finish is the same Doppler paint as on a Karambit; only the shape premium differs, and the Gut's is near zero. On the check-date it was 9% of the Karambit Doppler price.
Which cases have the Gut Knife?
All sixteen Arms Deal-pool cases, shared with the Bayonet, Flip, Karambit and M9.
Gut Knife or Falchion?
Falchion if you want the animation and are staying on a common finish; Gut if you want a premium finish — the Falchion's Doppler was not read on the check-date but no shape outside the Arms Deal five has a Doppler at $120.
