Survival Knife in CS2: a $44 Floor, a $122 Fade and the 2025 Doppler (Oct 2026)
The Survival Knife was one of the cheapest ways into a CS2 knife on 18 October 2026: the lowest Skinport listing was a Battle-Scarred Rust Coat at $44.23, and eight plain finishes listed under $51. What sets it apart is the top of its ladder. A Factory New Fade listed at $122.54, a Tiger Tooth at $104.39 and a Doppler from $180.27, prices that only a handful of shapes beat: the Navaja, Gut Knife and Shadow Daggers, plus the Paracord on Tiger Tooth. If you want a premium finish on a fixed blade for the price of a worn Karambit's shipping, this is the shape. Prices drift daily: on 26 October 2026 the cheapest Rust Coat listed at $42.02 and the Factory New Fade at $120.56, so read every figure below as the 18 October snapshot.
Skip it if you care about resale speed above all: outside the vanilla and Rust Coat, most single finish-and-wear listings recorded fewer than 30 sales in 30 days. And skip it if the silhouette matters more than the paint, because a bulky camp-knife profile is the whole design. Every price below is one marketplace's public data, read on 18 October 2026, quoted as the floor of a band rather than a promise.

Read the sales column before the ask column. Rust Coat, the floor, sold 70 times in 30 days at a $39.62 median, so an offer near $40 is realistic even though the cheapest ask was $44.23. The vanilla Survival is the most-traded item of the whole set, with 143 sales at a $48.75 median and 54 copies listed, which makes it the safest Survival to buy if you expect to sell it again. Case Hardened is the outlier in the other direction: 11 copies listed and not one sale recorded in 30 days, so its $74.27 ask is untested.
Across all its finishes and wears, Skinport held 615 plain Survival Knives and recorded about 1,000 sales of them in 30 days. StatTrak is a small side market of 83 listings, and a StatTrak vanilla's last 30 days of sales had a $56.27 median, only about $7 above the plain one. On this shape the counter is cheap to add.
The 2025 finishes: why a budget shape has a Doppler
The Survival arrived with Operation Shattered Web in November 2019, together with the Nomad, Paracord and Skeleton, and for five years it came only in the original finish set: Fade, Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Slaughter, Blue Steel, Stained, Night Stripe, Urban Masked and the camo patterns. The Shattered Web Case and the 2020 Fracture Case both carry that set. The Fever Case of 2025 added the Chroma set to all four Shattered Web shapes: Doppler with its seven phases, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Rust Coat and Ultraviolet.
That is why the cheapest Survival on the market is now a Rust Coat, a finish this knife did not have before 2025, and why its Doppler is so cheap. Standard phases ranged from $180.27 (Phase 3) to $215.23 (Phase 2), Sapphire listed at $302.45, and Ruby and Black Pearl sat together at $443.56 and $444.13. On a Karambit the same Ruby listed at $7,167.98 that day.
The Survival's Fade is the third cheapest in the game, and its Marble Fade at $109.89 was among the four cheapest, with only the Shadow Daggers and Navaja clearly below it and the Gut within a dollar or two. Its Tiger Tooth at $104.39 sat fifth among Tiger Tooth asks, behind the Navaja, Shadow Daggers, Gut and Paracord. A larger blade carries the gradient better than a small one, which is the practical case for this shape over the Navaja: you see more of the finish you paid for.
Doppler phases on the Survival
The gem phases are compressed here. Ruby and Black Pearl listed 57 cents apart, and the Black Pearl's three recent sales had a $456.71 median, above its own ask. With nine Ruby and four Black Pearl listings, one sale can reorder them, so treat the pair as a single $440–460 band. Phase 2 kept its usual premium, about $35 over the cheapest standard phase.
Trade-ups into the Shattered Web pool
Since Valve's 22 October 2025 update, a contract of five Covert skins returns a knife or gloves, drawn from the case collection behind one of those five inputs. For the Survival, that means Coverts from the Shattered Web, Fracture or Fever case, and each of those pools holds four shapes. On 18 October the cheapest Field-Tested Fracture Coverts were the AK-47 Legion of Anubis at $29.69 and the Desert Eagle Printstream at $30.47, so a five-skin contract cost roughly $148–152.
That contract returns a Survival, Paracord, Nomad or Skeleton. Two of those, the Survival at $44.23 and the Paracord at $42.06, had floors far below the $148 you put in, which is the arithmetic behind the cheap Shattered Web floors described in our post on prices after the trade-up update. For the Chroma finishes the inputs must come from Fever, whose cheapest Field-Tested Coverts were $39.41 (FAMAS Bad Trip) and $40.36 (AWP Printstream). This index does not recommend opening cases; if you want a particular Survival, buy that knife.
Edge cases
- Safari Mesh asks run above its sales. The cheapest ask was a Minimal Wear at $50.39 and Field-Tested copies listed from $54.66, yet 11 Field-Tested sales in 30 days had a $38.98 median. Offer near the sales, not the asks.
- Outlier asks. A Battle-Scarred Blue Steel listed at $182.15 while the same finish listed at $62.62 Well-Worn. A lone high ask is not a price unless the listing shows a reason.
- Fever-era finishes are newer supply. Doppler, Tiger Tooth and Marble Fade Survivals have existed only since 2025, so their price history is short and shaped by the trade-up change months later.
- One market, one date. Steam's own prices include a 15% fee and other cash markets list differently. Check two sources before paying.
